Coating
The Coating is a technique in which compounds with specific characteristics are applied to a
continuous substrate.
Coatings can be divided into two main series:
Direct coating: The compound is directly
coated on the substrate, which is usually a textile, and rewinded together with it.
Un-direct or transfer coating: The compound is applied to a film or paper and then removed
at the end of the process.
Coating can be done by a doctor blade or a rotating drum. The industrial process includes more
than just the coating head. In some cases, it includes additional equipment to create a complete
production line (e.g. decoiler, rewinder, accumulator, dryer, etc.).
We can divide the coating process into the following categories:
Direct coating:
1. Coated directly on the fabric
2. Coatings for Pharmaceuticals/Cosmetics
3. Printing and Painting
Un-direct coating (transfer)
1. Transfer coating
2. Transfer coating for split leather
